Description:

Organic China Long Jing tea or as it is also known as Dragon Well tea, is a visually and taste-wise appealing tea with fruity and sweet notes, followed by a slightly harsh flavour.

The tea is made only from hand-rolled and pressed young tender buds, making it one of our rare teas in the collection. To ensure the best quality, the tea leaves are then dried in large woks to stop the oxidation process.

Due to its high antioxidant content, Long Jing tea has numerous health benefits. It's believed to help fight against ageing and may help to prevent cancer and certain diseases. Additionally, it promotes cardiovascular health and can aid in detoxifying the body, similar to Matcha and Sencha teas.

Unlike Rooibos tea, Long Jing tea comes from the Camelia Sinensis which is the same plant that white and black teas originate. Only the young tender buds of the Camellia Sinensis plant are used for this tea.

Here are some key benefits of Organic China Lung Ching:

  • Lung Ching tea is considered a rare tea.
  • It has a fruity and sweet taste with a slightly acidic character.
  • Lung Ching green tea is high in antioxidants, which can help fight against ageing and prevent certain diseases.
  • Promotes cardiovascular health and aids in detoxifying the body.
  • Lung Ching Organic tea contains antioxidants such as 'catechins' and vitamin C, which can contribute to good health.
  • This green tea contributes to reducing inflammation, boosting metabolism, and lowering cholesterol.

The nutty undertones really come through in the second infusion, and the leaves hold up beautifully for three steeps. I brewed it at 175ยฐF with a short steep and got that soft, sweet balance with just a hint of bitterness at the end.

The leaves are so delicate and whole, and the broth stays soft and almost velvety even when I steep it a bit too long. That nutty note is there, but it's the subtle floral sweetness that keeps me coming back for a third cup.

The first steep hit me with that nutty sweetness right away, then the floral finish crept in soft and clean. Leaves stay tender across three infusions, each cup slightly different but still smooth. My afternoon tea ritual feels properly upgraded.
